Oak Lawn is a well-established neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, located immediately north of downtown. Just over 12 square miles, the neighborhood is bounded by Woodall Rodgers Freeway (366), North Central Expressway (I-75), the City of Highland Park, Inwood Road, and Harry Hines Boulevard. This diverse, well-established neighborhood mixes newer developments with older, single-family homes.

Running through the center of Oak Lawn from downtown to Love Field is Cedar Springs Road, which is contiguous with the Dallas Design District.

The McKinney Avenue Trolley, a 1950s steel-wheel electric trolley car, transports visitors back and forth from Cole Park to Hotel ZaZa. The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority boasts four vintage trolley cars (Rosie, Green Dragon, Matilda, and Petunia) painted in post-war, red-and-cream color schemes. These transport nearly 20,000 passengers per year on just 5 miles of track. All rides, except charters, are free. Contributions are welcome.

The 5.2-acre Woodall Rodgers deck park will create an urban green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul streets in downtown Dallas. Plans include a performance pavilion, restaurant, walking trails, a dog park, a children's discovery garden and playground, water features, an area for games and much more. The Park will promote increased pedestrian, trolley and bicycle use between Uptown, Downtown and the Arts District, contributing to a more walkable city center.

The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa has been a favorite destination for dignitaries and celebrities, including Oliver Stone, who filmed three movies in Dallas. Nearby Victory Park links the key districts of Uptown, Downtown Dallas, Turtle Creek, and the Arts District with the adjacent American Airlines Center, Dallas Convention Center, historic West End, Dallas Market Center and the scenic Katy Trail. The American Airlines Center hosts 250 events annually for 3 million guests, including home games for the NHL Dallas Stars, NBA Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Desperados.

According to Wikipedia, Oak Lawn is "one of the wealthier parts of Dallas," with many urban professionals living in upscale townhouses, condos, apartments, and duplexes. Along McKinney Avenue and Turtle Creek Boulevard, there are several new high-rise condos and apartments.
