Unfortunately as time went on the district began to lose visitors as companies moved out of the area and larger and more convenient shopping malls began to pop up all around the city. Fortunately during the late 1980s and 1990s a wealthy businessman purchased the entire area and decided to renovate and rejuvenate the entire area. At first the project was a little bit slow but the rundown, old, Bishop Arts District eventually became a hot spot once again when it turned into what it is today.

Today the Bishop Arts District is simply a district with dozens of businesses, shops, museums, and other attractions. The Bishop Arts District was meant to still represent some of the history and past that the area has and thanks to the design style and architecture used in the area it still does resemble shopping districts of the past. The Bishop Arts District is an area of Dallas that is definitely worth visiting anytime you are in the area. Few other districts offer the history and tradition while still offering modern accommodations like restaurants and shopping. The Bishop Arts District is also quite conveniently located in downtown Dallas so it is not too far away from anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
