Mansfield can trace its roots all the way back to mid the 1850s, when R.S. Man and Julian Feild built a mill in what is now the center of the city that bears homage to their names. As business grew, soon a general store and a homestead for their families were built. The town never stopped growing and today has a population of more than 50,000.

Mansfield has a reputation for being a great place to raise a family, and was named by CNN as the 24th "Best Small Town to Live In" on their 2009 list. CNN took into account the numerous family events hosted by the city including, parades, fairs and art festivals. Mansfield also boasts one of the premier amateur baseball complexes in the country, with eight fields including a Fenway Park replica. There are more than 500 acres of parks within the city limits.

The city of Mansfield is in Tarrant County, south of Arlington and Kennedale, and is large enough to have its own school district, the Mansfield ISD. Some areas are served by the Midlothian ISD. In total, it has 21 elementary schools that ultimately feed into six high schools. There is also a large selection of private schools for those seeking a religious education.

For those that require lots of air travel, Mansfield will be a great location. One of the nation's largest airports, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is roughly 30 minutes northeast of the city. The airport is far enough away to not disturb the city but close enough for convenience.
